Bali Tourism Department will keep inspecting the tour guides in order to decrease the number of guides who doesn’t have guide report. Ida Bagus Kade Subhiksu, the ehad of Bali Tourism Department, said “the inspection will be carried out regularly in order to give the sense of security for the tourists visited Bali.”
All guides will be checked and if necessary they will be trainned so the guides can give the proper information to the tourists. “Currently, we are focusing on Mandarin guides because there were many reports showing that many of them didn’t have the proper licenses,” he added.
Subhiksu said that the department had sent a special team to track down illegal guides or the guides who break the rules such as don’t wear traditional Balinese clothes when accompanying the tourists.
The inspection was done in the regencies that have potential tourism sites which are Badung, Gianyar, Bangli, and Karangasem regency. Subhiksu told every guides must bring their licenses and identity every where they go.
The inspection team consists of officers from many departments throughout Bali such as Labor Department, Law Department, Tourists Police, and Indonesian Guide Association (HPI) Bali. Based on the current data, the number of tourists coming to Bali was 6,000 tourists a day.
