Even tough the travel warning had been released by United States and Australia, Kuta beach still packed with tourists. The travel warning is because the bomb blast which happened in Jakarta in July 17th 2009.
Many foreign tourists enjoyed the view while sunbathe or swimming on the beach. Most of the tourists seemed to ignore the travel band released by their native countries. The tourists from Asia and Australia still dominated the people who came to beach.
In addition to sit on the beach, the tourists also strolled along the Legian Street, Seminyak, and Petitenget. The tourists were very enthusiastic in enjoying the situation in Kuta. Some of them bought souvenirs for their families and friends back home in the shops spread throughout the area.
Dewa Sutamadana, one of the employees in a small hotel in Padma Street, said that the bomb blast didn’t affect the tourist visitation to Kuta. “The number of tourists coming to Kuta didn’t decresed and even become higher,” he added.
The condition can be seen by the increasing number of hotels and villas occupancy in Kuta area. Sutamadana said “in our hotel, all rooms had fully booked. The location which near the beach and the cheap price made many tourists wanted to stay in our hotel.” Mostly the tourists saty in the hotel is from japan or Australia who stayed in Bali for long period of time.
