Denpasar – I Made Berata Ashrama, a senior journalist who was also the head of Bali Travel News (BTN) tabloid, passed away after exercising in his house in Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar on Tuesday, June 16th 2009.
The late Ashrama was jogging around his house and suddenly collapsed and then was rushed to Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar. Nyoman Budarsana, a journalist from BTN said that Ashrama, the head of English Tabloid in bali Post Media Group, passed away before arriving at the hospital.
Berata Ashrama suffered from heart disease and had previously been to Singapore to cure his sickness. Light sports had become a habit of Asrama in the mornings, but this time he suddenly fainted and fell unconscious.
He has three children. The body of Ashrama is currently at Snaglah Hospital. I Ketut Dana Wirawan, resident in banjar Tengipis, Buahan Kaja, in Gianyar regency, said that the date of the ngaben ceremony is still being discussed by the families.
