Virtually each nation or tribe on earth has its own unique tradition and festive atmosphere to welcome it. By and large, it involves expressive festivity and jubilation over the renewal of life. As if the life is coming to an end for awhile marked with joyous pleasure breaks into a colorful party. And everyone falls into joy.
This year end, Bali will become a rendezvous for New Year’s goers from around the world’s comers. At least, there are three locations where people gather to mark the annual ‘ritual’ celebration, Firstly, it takes place at hotel or villa where the festivity involves the in-house guests or at local restaurants with their enchanting packages.’Mere they luxuriate in the West-meet-East ambience and delicacies. Secondly, the one engaging the interaction of the locals and visitors (foreigners) fused in vibrant delights and joys in a number of places like in the Releasing the Sun 2008 in the heart of Denpasar.
Meanwhile, the third one is located at each Bali hamlet scattered throughout where it is ordinarily self-organized by the village’s youth club or Sekaa teruna. Local people, particularly the youth, welcome the New Year by organizing beneficial social events like fund-raising bazaar. At the end, the outcome of this activity is used to finance the organization like the customary village youth club. Sometimes it’s also donated to the development program of their local customary village. So it’s no surprise if you find die village hall turns into an entertainment center for few nights by the New Year.
Denpasar itself has a regular celebration to release the sun. It’s jazzed up by various traditional and modem art attractions centralized at the Puputan Belong square. This merry activity is held until mid night. Children up to the old will engulf the square together with their family. It’s really a free extravaganza enjoyed annually.
No matter where you join the celebration, ultimate care should be paid attention. Sometimes particular people at public places take advantage of the crowds to pick a pocket. On that account, do not too get immersed in the party or event. Or even if you pass on the way back to your accommodation at late night you may encounter the one(s) getting drunk after the party. So, please be careful for your convenience. Do not let your little indifference disturb the memorable holiday.
